From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.

And is the perfect excuse to talk about creativity in localization.
Back in university, I had two courses on Advertising Creativity. The professor was a brilliant advertiser—but a terrible teacher.
First, let me say this: I HATE being called “creative” just because I work in marketing. To me, creativity is everywhere. Sure, it’s in a punchy copy or a TV ad, but it’s also in the Project Manager juggling multiple calendars, the salesperson making relentless calls, and even the cleaner finding new ways to keep everything in order.
Creativity is a soft skill that extends beyond work. And while some jobs demand it more than others, localization copywriting is definitely one of them.
Here are 7 things I learnt about creativity over the last years:
You can train your creativity. Some people are naturally more creative than others, yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t improve—and even surpass them.
There are different types of creativity. In my case, I’m great with wordplay, but when it comes to cooking, I always end up making the same meals over and over again.
It’s okay to take it personally. Creativity is personal. When you put your ideas out there, you’re sharing something intimate, and criticism can sting. Accept it, embrace it, and use it to grow.
You don’t need to be creative 24/7. Today, it’s raining in Valencia, and my energy—and creativity—are lower than usual. On days like this, I focus on more mechanical tasks.
Find your creative peak. Pay attention to when your creativity flows best. For me, it’s mornings (I always write this newsletter in the morning) and late nights.
Let it flow. Create spaces that encourage creativity—a scheduled brainstorming session, screen-free time, or even a dedicated notebook.
Enjoy the process. Creativity can be frustrating (just look at the meme I shared at the beginning of this email), but cultivating a mindset that embraces feedback and finds joy in the process makes all the difference.
Ready to embrace creativity on daily basis? Go, go, go!
Outside the desk
Where the magic really happens.
🥘 Yesterday was a local holiday in Valencia (Father’s Day), but doesn’t matter that much when you are a freelancer. And yet, I had a great paella with my family.
🌧️ This is the rainiest month I can remember here, so a lot of time to stay at home, get creative (yes!) and be quiet.
🦸♂️ I started the last season of Reacher and looking forward for the new Daredevil show on Disney +.
Make it global, baby
