From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.
One of the great things about working in localization is that you get to speak with people from all around the world on a regular basis. And over the past week, the same topic has come up again and again in conversations with clients and teammates in Germany, the U.S., Poland, and France: Donald Trump.
Donald Trump being re-elected as president.
Donald Trump teaming up with Elon Musk.
Donald Trump imposing tariffs on almost every country.
And the list goes on.
I just wonder—when did this happen? When did we (the world) give one country—and now, seemingly one person—so much power to influence global dynamics? Regardless of local economies, everything seems to come down to what this one man does or doesn’t do.
Crazy, if you ask me.
Back to localization—it’s important not to be vague when global news hits. Even though the story might be international, the impact and perception vary drastically depending on the market and audience.
Even within Europe, which Trump seems to think of as just one big block, there are clear differences: Germany’s economy is struggling, while Spain’s is doing relatively well.
Imports and exports differ by country.
Political climates in Italy, France, and Spain are far from the same.
So the challenge is this: take the global news everyone’s talking about and tailor it to your local market.
And if you ask me—unless it’s truly relevant, I’d steer clear of the topic altogether. As we say in Spain, keep politics and religion off the table.

Where the magic really happens.
🌾 How many times do you eat rice? I feel this really tells you where you live. Being from Valencia means 2-3 times per week at least.
🐰 Easter is here! And I’m taking couple of weeks of traveling through Albania while keeping the business running.
🧹 But before that, I’m doing a Spring Cleaning inspired by a campaign of one of my clients. I’m already choosing the playlist for that
Make it global, baby
