Dear Three Wise Men: Here’s My Wish List for 2025
Or, as I like to call it, my Localization Copywriter’s Manifesto.

In Spain we are not the biggest Santa Claus fans. Some families celebrated and is getting bigger over the last years (hello American culture all around).
But what is big in Spain are the Three Wise Men, or “Los 3 Reyes Magos de Oriente”, as we call them.
As a kid, from two months before the date (6th January), our parents would reject to buy anything to us and just say “write it in your letter for the Three Wise Men”.
And even now as a grow up 33 years old kid, we still kind of keep the tradition at home. In this newsletter, I want to write here 5 things I ask my “3 Reyes Magos de Oriente” to bring me this year 2025 related with my business.
Also, they just bring you what you want if you’ve been good over the year. Otherwise, you get a piece (or two) of coal.
More Subscribers to The Textonality Newsletter: I love writing this weekly newsletter, but I haven’t had a proper strategy to get the word out and have a stable lead generation system. I know this is a really niche and indie newsletter, but let’s try to get more people in!
Specific Localization AI Training: AI is everywhere, like it or not. For the last quarter, I’ve had clients with specific guidelines about how to use it. So I already signed up for a Localization AI program (starting in February). If you are interested, I can share the biggest learnings here.
A New, Cool Brand to Work With: This year I welcomed some new clients — One of them being a tool I use on a regular basis, which is great! Even though I haven’t been prospecting a lot, it is always nice to start collaborating with brands you use and admire. Which will be the ones in 2025?
Keep Teaching Copywriting at University: This year, I started teaching copywriting in two Master’s program, and it’s been incredible. Seeing students light up when they crack a clever tagline or grasp the power of cultural insights? Priceless. For 2025, I want more of this—more classes, more storytelling, and inspiring the next generation.
A Bit More Global Copywriting Chaos: 2024 was fun, but 2025 could use even wilder international challenges. Bring me cultural mismatches, tricky taglines, and slogans that need untangling. Let’s turn “It’s Finger-Lickin’ Good” into something the whole Spanish-speaking world can agree on (spoiler: they won’t).
Outside the desk
Where the magic really happens.
☀️ Start the year in summer is an experience everyone should experience at least once. Here in Cabo Verde we are enjoying some nice 25 degrees.
🏄♂️ I’ve been traveling for the last 2 weeks, but from now I’ll spend some days in Sal island to chill, work and surf.
🤯 My head is so outside the desk that I almost forgot to prepare this newsletter. Lucky for me (and you), that didn’t happen.
