How to go hyper-local with your clients
A way to get better results and enjoy more your daily work
From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.
Last week I was reached out by a potential new client.
This is always a good new. And not just because is always good to have new clients…
… but because I KNOW this client.
I know the industry and, even though I’ve never bought from them, I’ve some extra info about them, their market, their competence and, of course, their clients.
This makes it easier for me to localize their content. Because I’m not just an expert in localization and an expert in the Spanish market… I’m also an expert in this very specific industry.
Interesting thing: I’ve been thinking about it and, looking back, I’ve had something similar with a lot of my clients.
Some examples:
I’m a client of 2 of my current clients.
I love traveling and have worked with several brands in this industries (and I still do).
When looking for new clients, I always keep this in mind.
And besides this “hyper-localization” skill, when you know and like a specific topic, your daily work turns out to be lighter and more enjoyable.
Market-in
Resources to reach your peak level.
💡If there is a job where remote working should be part of it, this is localization (is a big plus to have someone at the country instead of the central headquarter). L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus disagrees.
Outside the desk
Where the magic really happens.
🥖 If you visit Valencia, you need to try a good “esmorçar”, a typical local sandwich with a lot of history. I had one on Saturday and another one on Sunday.
🍜 Last night I went to a really good ramen place and, I have so say, it was one of the best I’ve ever had.
💡 This “Outside the desk” section has a lot to do with today’s email… let’s see if any ramen brand reach out soon to localize some menus for them.
Make it global, baby
If you want to work with me, this is the way.
