From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.
One of the main reasons I started freelancing was the chance to work remotely. Just a few years back (before the pandemic), very few companies offered a remote working policy. Now there are more, but still not enough (in my humble opinion).
I didn’t plan to go full nomad, but instead stay a few days after a holiday trip, spend some months in other countries, maybe even move to a new destination.
I've found a lot of us (us=people who work on the localization field) have a common traveling background:
They like to travel (and are always planning a new trip)
They have lived in different countries (mostly more than 2)
They enjoy multicultural environments, both in their work and in their personal life.
I can say traveling has made me a better professional. Just when I started living outside Spain, I learn the most about Spanish people and culture and how different it was from the outside.
For example, for me is normal to have dinner at 22:00. And it was normal because I did it since I was a kid, because my parents do it, my friends too, etc. But when you live abroad and the first booking for dinner is at 18:00, you know it might be something unique.
When you have dinner every day at 18:00, then you know is something unique for sure.
This is why I see traveling as a real investment in my career (one that I enjoy a lot, not gonna lie). If you work in localization, consider to include this into your routine and try to get as much as possible out of it.

Resources to reach your peak level.
💡This week I bring an interesting article about the localization industry and how to develop a career in it. Here the article.

Where the magic really happens.
🧨 If you want to get hyper-local, Valencia is getting ready for las fallas. Type “mascletà” on Google, put the sound and enjoy.
📦This week I’m moving to my new apartment. This involves a lot of cleaning, buying, packing and Instagram reels about “how to decorate a small apartment”.
🔆 Becoming of March and spring is already here (at least at this side of the Mediterranean Sea). Crazy.
Make it global, baby
If you want to work with me, this is the way.
