From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.
Before the internet, before the dating apps, before Instagram, people had their ways to find their loved ones.
In Spain, the local festivals were “the place to be”, where you could meet interesting people and, from there… well, you know.
Now, in 2024, where you’d think Tinder, Grinder, Bumble, Badoo or Hinge are the main way to meet new people… Spain, as usual, thought different.
Some days ago, an online article went viral in Spain: people was going to Mercadona (one of the biggest supermarkets in Spain, if you’ve been here, I’m sure you know it) at a specific time to meet new people.
It even has a name: “Supermarket dating”.
People on Social Media are talking about it. People is actually GOING at 20:00 to Mercadona. Some brands are using it.
If you live in Spain, are seeking for love and didn’t know about this trend, this newsletter might be helpful.
If this is not the case and you are here to learn about copywriting localization: Yes, you are still at the right place. Because to be on top of every trend is ESSENCIAL to be a good localization copywriter.
What about launching a specific campaign with this topic? Or a fun push notification at that time? Or posting something on social media about it? This will tell your audience “Wooow, they are really from here”.
Also, a topic like this is like a playground for creative copywriters and can even inspire other languages to find fun trends in their countries.
Would you take the chance?
