I’m writing this email from Kaunas, Lithuania.
I’ve been invited by the European Commission as a finalist for an “Innovation award”, being selected among other European entrepreneurs.
No shame to share this: I was shocked when I got the notification. Innovation? What do I do that is that innovative?
But over these days, talking with a lot of people about it, I learnt one thing: localization, in 2024, is something that innovates by itself.
Not a lot of people (or a lot of companies) know what localization is about. The value we bring to international marketing. Our unique process and methodology. And how different this is from regular translation.
So yes: congratulations to everyone who works in this industry, because we are doing something good.
Understanding a specific market.
Translating ideas and creative concepts instead of literal words.
Educating the brands to invest in localization.
Not sure what will come after this award but, as always, you’ll be among the first ones to know it.

✈️ It seems like I always have a new trip on this section. The first time I was in Kaunas was 2018 and I have such a great memory.
📔 I’m reading a book about how to enjoy being less productive and not being obsessed with it. Is call “I didn’t do the thing today”.
🚲 The time I’m in Valencia, I’m back at riding my bike to everything: meet friends, go to the gym or visit the coworking.
