From the bottom of my heart mind
Fresh stories from a Spanish Copywriter.
When I was studying at University, I had a “creativity” subject and we had to find a definition for this word. If we were 60 students, we got 60 different definitions.
And thinking about it now, wouldn’t that be a perfect example of creativity?
I liked the ones that were about mixing things that, at first, doesn’t seem to fit. Typical example in Spain: eggs+ potatoes= Spanish omelette. Easy. Tasty.
My way to the localization industry took a similar path. With a background in marketing and a passion for languages and different cultures, I mixed both to get here.
And something I really need on my daily/weekly work is to have very different projects. In terms of:
Industry: I always try to have different clients in different industries. My specialization goes in the service (localization), so be able to switch from tech to sports, travel or marketing helps my brain.
Tasks: Besides being in localization, from time to time I like to take on projects 100% in Spanish, like content creation or copywriting. This force me to keep those skills fresh.
Teams/solo: Being a freelancer is not always easy. That’s why I LOVE to be part of teams whenever is possible and feel part of the brand I’m working on, either with regular meetings (online and on-site) or with chats from time to time.
There is also another reason: don't put all your eggs in one basket (fun fact: we say so in Spain too). This is specially important as a freelancer, but nowadays is also important in any kind of work (lay-offs happen, you know). So always find a healthy pace to balance it.

Resources to reach your peak level.
💡For the last weeks I’ve been using Google Tasks (on Google Calendar) to organize my daily work and is going really well: is simple, easy to see and easy to organize. Give it a try.

Where the magic really happens.
🇩🇪 Speaking of on-site meetings, this week I’m in Berlin on a business trip. Is always a pleasure to be here.
🎉 Last weekend was the first festival of the season for me, in Valencia. Good friends, good music, bad weather.
🏀 Most of my TV time lately is going to the NBA finals. Celtics are up and look like they will get the ring over Luka and the Mavs
Make it global, baby
